A love of playing. A passion for teaching.
David Grainger, DipABRSM. Guitarist and Teacher in Horsforth, Leeds.
Say hello to David ↗Hello, I am David.
I am a professional classical guitarist and guitar teacher based in Horsforth, in north-west Leeds. I have been playing guitar for over twenty-five years, and hold an ABRSM Licentiate in Music Performance.
I started teaching professionally because I love playing the guitar so much, and I try and share my passion for the instrument with my pupils. I offer patient, friendly and enjoyable lessons in various styles of guitar playing.
I have been a professional classical guitar teacher in the Horsforth area since 2011, guiding pupils through graded examinations and helping students of all ages enjoy playing.
My own musical education
Originally studying with Huddersfield-based guitar teacher Nicky Wright, I have studied with Rory Russell of the Aquarelle Quartet, Tom McKinney, Martin Bickerton, and Peter Batchelar.
My Licentiate in Music Performance is from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, equivalent to degree-level in performance.
Sharing the music
I have given performances as a soloist, in ensemble with the West Yorkshire Classical Guitar Society, and with Amy Bowles as part of the Grainger-Bowles Guitar Duo.
